fucked up how the sun gets a birthday every week and the earth only gets one once a year and its the one we’re living all over. even more fucked up: not only does the moon not get a widely celebrated annual holiday, sometimes we get eclipses and people go bonkers talking about how cool it is that they dont have to look at the moon for a while. thats the opposite of a holiday and the moon deserves better

Boggy give me strength, first that false story of a spider living inside a man and eating him alive for three days circulated national news as if true and now people are freaking out over a spider " the size of a puppy " and treating goliath birdeating tarantulas as something brand new when they've been known since early 18th century or so. Hell even the exotic petstore over here has had one for at least a year. It's VERY frustrating for arachnid lovers.

bogleech:

Yeah people are ignorant as fuck about nature and journalism is laughably bad. In fact, reporting on animals as “new discoveries” when they really aren’t happens practically every single day, just when a new paper or something gets published on a weird enough organism.

And for some reason people are under the impression that spiders have ever been parasitic or ever had the ability to tunnel into things or inject eggs into things.

It’s almost like people care more about fictional characters, games and what celebrities are wearing than the real world that sustains them.

Since bogleech-senpai said Awful Hospital OCs are ok…
Not every day such a lovely dame visits your hospital, you know? One of them… old Hollywood beauties.
( Ok so this character was in one of my dreams, and for some reason I thought a dead, extremely smelly flounder with a lil bow would be a good idea ok?? ok )

Lumpsuckers Move Into New Space

Aquarium staff recently moved our growing lumpsuckers into a larger tank — and they’re definitely enjoying the extra space!

These guys make me think of the Fish Tank skit from Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life.

I think it’s the wide, flat face.
